Annual Report 2023
Approaching CSRD
The Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive
The Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) introduces new and comprehensive sustainability reporting standards for companies operating within the European Union, and will be effective for the 2024 financial year.
The CSRD aims to enhance the quality, reliability, and comparability of sustainability information. It requires detailed disclosures on environmental, social, and governance (ESG) matters within a dedicated section of the management report.
The directive also introduces the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS), which are sector-agnostic standards applicable from January 2024. These standards are designed to provide clear criteria for economic activities to qualify as sustainable.
To prepare for these substantial adjustments, Gjensidige started to integrate the new requirements into the reporting processes for 2023.
