Customer information at the station
Development and implementation of the customer and traffic information system "KARI".
The customer and traffic information system "KARI" is a digital automated system that provides information about train operations on screens and through loudspeakers at all train stations in Norway.
KARI also delivers data to external channels such as Bane NOR's own app "NÅ," the train companies' apps, and screens in shopping centers or other public areas connected to the railway.

My role and contribution: Overall project Manager
Design Management of the front-end-design; consept development and user testing. Information-, graphic- and inclusive design.
Responsible for cost management and financial reporting
Stakeholder mapping, managing and involving the organizations
Prepare and carry out decision making processes
Take over the project management of the back-end of the system; programming and implementation of tha new information system mid-project, from June 2017 until implemented at all stations in Norway by March 2019.
Restart the project with new internal organization within Bane NOR, new budgets, new work processes and routines, and definition of content packages with functions and processes for delivering these.
Collaborate and negotiate with the German supplier on the development of functionality until the final result is achieved.
Lead all deliveries, from specifications to testing and through to production-ready functions.
Ensure alignment and involvement of the steering committee and other relevant parties throughout the process.
Lead and execute the procurement of a technical project manager.
Responsible for the rollout of KARI at the largest stations – Nationaltheatret Station and Oslo Central Station.
Handover of the project to operations.

The result
KARI is currently a system that provides more precise information than the old manual systems at all stations across the country. Information in both Norwegian and English, more details on the screens than before, and improved sound quality for loudspeaker announcements at the station are some of the improvements.
New information design has contributed to better readability on all screens. Fonts, colors, and contrasts were chosen with this goal in mind. The information is prioritized based on its importance to the customer. Above all, disruption information has been clarified, which is crucial for enabling travelers to make their own decisions.
